The Gang: Part 2 is the tenth episode of Season 2 and the twenty-third episode overall. It is one-half of an episode. Written as a teleplay by Jack Elinson, Allan Manings, series co-creator Eric Monte and Norman Paul from an original story written by Monte, the episode, which was directed by Herbert Kenwith, first aired on CBS-TV, premiering on November 18, 1974.
Synopsis[]
J.J.'s wound is only superficial but James wants revenge on the man who shot his son and will do anything to get it.
Storyline[]
After getting shot by Mad Dog while trying save James, J.J. comes home and makes like he was critically injured even though it was just a flesh wound. However, on a more serious note, James threatens physical violence on Mad Dog for shooting his oldest son.
Plot summary[]
J.J. is recovering after being shot by Mad Dog, which turned out to be only a flesh wound. Meanwhile, a vengeful James presses charges against Mad Dog, but a worried Florida is afraid that James's anger will take over before the law does. The judge, due to a lack of space in the prisons, has no choice but to let Mad Dog off with a warning, but afterwards, James witnesses a heated argument between Mad Dog and his mother, who expresses how fed up she is with her son, and disowns him. James almost takes pity on Mad Dog's who's been broken by his mother's hate-filled words which did much more damage than anything James or the law could've done, and can't bring himself to take any further action against him.
