J.J. in Business is the twenty-second episode of Season 4 of Good Times, and also the 83rd series episode overall. Written by Bob Peete, the episode, which was directed by Roger Shulman, premiered on CBS-TV, originally airing on March 9, 1977.


J.J. goes into the greeting card business but his accountant informs him that he doesn't have enough money to fulfill a large order. This prompts J.J. to try and get a loan.


JJ has another money-making idea. He starts a greeting card business and has the whole family involved in making up messages. He has the business plans are laid out, but does not have the financing.

Plot summaryEdit

J.J. (Jimmie Walker) has visions of limitless wealth when he and his friends go into the greeting-card business. When the orders begin pouring in, J.J. realizes he can't keep up with the demand. Worse still, the "gold mine" business ends up netting a pathetic 68 dollars, forcing J.J. to take potentially drastic action to keep his head above a sea of creditors.
