J.J.'s Condition is the nineteenth episode of Season 5 of Good Times, and also the 104th episode overall. Written by Bill Nuss and Dusty Kay, the episode, which was directed by Gerren Keith, premiered on CBS-TV, first airing on February 13, 1978.
Synopsis[]
J.J.'s relationship with a married woman causes him to get an ulcer. His condition worsens when he realizes the soon-to-be divorced woman still lives with her husband.
Storyline[]
Willona tells J.J. he might be getting an upset stomach all the time because of his relationship with Barbara. Barbara is still married, but tells J.J. she is going to get a divorce. It just seems the divorce is never going to happen.
Plot summary[]
J.J. (Jimmie Walker) falls in love with Barbara (Fay Hauser), a married woman on the verge of a divorce. The relationship hits some rocky terrain when J.J. learns that Barbara is still living with her future "ex" -- and suddenly can't commit herself to going through with the breakup. As a result, our hero becomes literally lovesick when he develops an ulcer.
