Synopsis[]
The deplorable conditions of the building cause the Evanses and Willona to generate a petition to get Bookman fired. Bookman and his wife create their own scheme to stay in the building.
Storyline[]
As always, Bookman is avoiding his job and the tenants are tired of his excuses, rusty water, no electricity, plumbing problems and more. Willona starts a petition and everyone signs it. Bookman gets fired.
Plot summary[]
Fed up with their contentious landlord, Nathan Bookman (Johnny Brown), the Evans kids combine forces with Willona (Ja'net DuBois) and Penny (Janet Jackson) to circulate a petition demanding that Bookman be fired. In order to keep his job -- and get even with the petitioners -- Bookman cooks up a diabolical scheme with the help of his wife. Marilyn Coleman makes her first series appearance as Violet Bookman.
